Dragon Breeding
Breeding is a huge part of the MoD experience. Community members are invited to join our Twitter Community, and find a partner to breed with. Community members may also breed two of their own dragons as long as they also have two Dragon Essences.
Breeders will receive a Breeder Card after they’ve successfully bred one of their dragons. Breeders will notice 2 stats on their cards; Experience, and Level. To level up, 100 experience points is required. You will get 25 experience points each time you breed your dragon. If you breed a Dragon with a Legendary trait, you will get 40 experience points instead of 25. If your dragon has a Special trait or is of a Mythical rarity, you will get 50 experience points instead of 25.

Season 2 Breeding will commence Monday January 16, 2023.
Dragon Essence
Discovered within the depths of an archeological dig site, is Dragon Essence (DE). DE is a mysterious substance which has an unknown number of unique uses. One known use has been revealed to encourage breeding within pairs of dragons. Once used on a dragon it is sent away with its partner, away from prying eyes. When they return, they bring with them two babies (One baby dragon per parent), bypassing the egg stage! The Dragons who are sent away are to young to mate, but no one has seen the process unfold, so it’s assumed that magic is involved.
Breeder Rewards
Each time you breed a dragon, you get rewards! See below for the reward structure, as well as how experience is calculated.
Experience and Level
Each time you breed a dragon, you will receive 25 experience points. If you breed a Dragon with a Legendary trait, you will get 40 experience points instead of 25. If your dragon has a Special trait or is of a Mythical rarity, you will get 50 experience points instead of 25.
Rewards
Each time you level up, you will be rewarded! The reward structure is as follows:
Level 1 – You will receive a free Dragon Essence.
Level 2 – You will receive a Dragon Egg of your choice from the Season Two collection.
Level 3 – Have a favorite Dragon? We’ll ship you a free wall display with your Dragon on it!
Level 4 – You will be one of the few community members to have a Mecha Dragon, because achieving this level will secure you a free one!
Trait Probabilities:
1) Type
2) Subtype 1
3) Subtype 2
There is a 100% chance for your Dragon to have the Traits above. Your Dragon Spawn will have a Type, and will also have 2 Subtypes which will be the Types of the Dragon Breeding pair.
4) Background
There is a 50% chance that your Dragon will have a background, and a 50% chance that it will be a solid color.
5) Rarity
The breakdown of the probability of receiving a Dragon spawn with a particular Rarity Trait are as follows: Common 50%, Uncommon 30%, Rare 15%, Legendary 4%, Mythical 1%.
– If one or both of the Dragons being bred have a Legendary Rarity, you will be 3 times more likely to receive a Dragon Spawn with a Legendary Rarity.
– If one or both of the Dragons being bred have a Mythical Rarity, you will be 5 times more likely to receive a Dragon Spawn with a Mythical Rarity.
6) Predominant Stat
Strength 20%, Defense 20%, Vitality 20%, Dexterity 20%, Balanced 20%
7) Special
There is a 0.3% chance of receiving a Dragon Spawn with a special trait. If one or both of the parents have a special trait, you will be 3 times more likely to receive a Dragon Spawn with a special trait.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Genesis egg holders will be airdropped 1 essence per egg they hold. Dragon Essence will then be sold on Opensea at 0.03ETH. Dragon Essence will be released in harvests (waves) to ensure everyone has an opportunity to participate in breeding.
You simply need to purchase Dragon Essence! There is no additional cost involved in the act of sending a breeding pair away, and receiving your new dragon spawn.
All Dragons can breed, except for the Dragonmas Event Dragons.
Dragons in the Genesis collection can only breed with other Genesis Collection Dragons (Chart is available above). The remaining Dragons can breed with each other. Check out the Breeding Centre for breeding pair possibilities.

After breeding has taken place, you Dragon Essence which you supplied in the Breeder From will be replaced by your baby dragon (Spawn) within 14 days.

The Myth of Dragons Twitter Community will be a main source of finding a suitable mate. Direct message @jml86_ with details of the mate you’re looking for if you’re having a hard time finding one in the Twitter Community.
Absolutely! You will need one Dragon Essence per Dragon. You may then proceed to using the Breeder From to submit the breeding pair.
As long as you have a Dragon Essence, you can breed! We just ask that you wait for your dragon to return from one breeding session before submitting the next one.
Rarities play a role in breeding! Legendary and Mythical rarities increase your chance of breeding a Legendary or Mythical Dragon. These two dragons will give you more experience that goes towards your breeder card. This will in turn allow you to level up quicker, bringing you that much closer to the next reward!
Of course! If you have seen a Dragon you would specifically like and want to purchase a Season Two Dragon Egg for the purpose of breeding, that’s absolutely fine. Please remember it can take up to 14 days for a Dragon to be revealed after an egg purchase.
